The connection guide

A few steps.
A bigger view.

For the upcoming companion release and current testers. You need matching InfinitumView and Companion builds before you begin.

Start with the right pair.

Use InfinitumView on Apple Vision Pro and InfinitumView Companion on Mac, iPhone or iPad. The existing App Store version of InfinitumView does not include the upcoming companion connection. Check availability for the matching release.

Mac requires macOS 14 or later. iPhone and iPad require iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. Vision Pro requires visionOS 26 or later. Keep both devices awake on the same local network and allow local-network access when prompted.

Make a local connection.

  1. On Vision Pro, open Connect Device → Companion, then open the connection screen and choose Connect companion.
  2. Choose Copy code. In InfinitumView Companion, paste or type the complete code and choose Connect.
  3. Once connected, choose Share screen and approve the system's screen-sharing control.

The temporary code expires after five minutes. Create a fresh code for a new connection or a different source device. Only one companion shares to this connection at a time.

Choose a Mac window or display.

Choose a window or an entire display in Apple's picker. If prompted, allow Screen & System Audio Recording in System Settings. The selected screen and supported app audio will appear in InfinitumView. Use the Mac to control the app.

Choose Stop sharing in Companion when you are done. If an app cannot be captured, try a different ordinary window or display.

Share from iPhone or iPad.

Tap Share screen, tap the broadcast button in the sheet, then choose Start Broadcast. After the countdown, open the app you want to share. Your screen and supported app audio are shared; the microphone is not captured.

Portrait and both landscape directions are supported. Rotate the source device and allow the picture to settle. To finish, use the system's broadcast control or return to Companion and stop sharing.

Copy once. Paste on your other device.

Universal Clipboard can transfer the code between nearby Apple devices using the same Apple Account, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Handoff enabled. Copy on Vision Pro, wait a moment, then press ⌘V on Mac or touch and hold the iPhone/iPad code field and choose Paste.

You can also type the code. A matching Apple Account is needed for Universal Clipboard, not for the companion connection itself.

Using HDMI / UVC instead?

This is a separate connection route. Use a compatible HDMI-to-UVC capture device with Apple Vision Pro Developer Strap, then choose My Hardware in Connect Device. Your source's controller stays connected to the source.

Companion sharing needs no capture card or Developer Strap.

It uses the local network. HDMI/UVC capture has its own hardware requirements.

A clearer path when something stops.

Cannot find Vision Pro

Use a fresh code, check local-network permission, and make sure the Wi-Fi network allows devices to communicate. Guest networks can isolate devices.

A black picture or no sound

Try an ordinary, unprotected app. Some apps intentionally restrict video or audio capture. Confirm the system broadcast or Mac picker is active. If the problem continues, stop and reconnect, then contact support with your platform, app version and what happened.

Delay or interrupted video

Keep your devices near a strong Wi-Fi access point and reduce other heavy traffic. Performance depends on your devices, source app and network. There is no zero-latency or wired-equivalence guarantee.
